Bodhi for Eleanor

I had the privilege of testing this pattern for Karen of Blooming Poppies in the fall of 2019. The pattern was created to use fabric scraps in a modern, impactful way. I love the idea of being resourceful, while keeping the quilt clean and modern. I chose a black background for a unique, bold look with contrasting white thread in a diagonal patchwork quilting that compliments the 90 degree angles of the blocks. The textured yellow backing adds a nice pop of color to anchor the quilt; the same yellow print for the binding keeps the focal point on the quilt top itself. Best thing was finishing the top at peak fall color in Portland.

I was thrilled to hear that this quilt tugged on the heart strings of a friend I met in Portland. That feeling of genuine excitement keeps me going! It now lives with her and her partner in Minnesota.
