When a friend of mine asked me to make a quilt for her grandmother using purples and greens, I immediately thought of this Gather quilt pattern that so perfectly fits a two-colored theme. The various shades of each color line each diagonal row with a contrasting strip in between. Adding just a bit of uniqueness, a few of the fabrics have a small print. The creamy colored background allows for the colors to shine, drawing your attention from edge to edge with alternating triangle blocks. A tone on tone fabric spreads across the entire backing. Straight line quilting creates a complimentary V shape as it follows the diagonal rows of the quilt design. The somewhat tricky nature of building a quilt asymmetrically made for a fun construction. What a stunning result!
