Pacific Sun

This quilted wall hanging consists of two half circle designs, one a solid yellow depicting the sun and the other an alternating blue-and-white stripe depicting the oceans waves heading towards shore. To emphasize the design further, yellow-threaded sun rays were quilted in the top half of the quilt while echoing circles of coordinating blue thread fill the bottom half. Additional quilting fills the inside of the shapes. The backing is a warm, textured fabric and the binding is a solid yellow that wraps around the quilt and completes the look. The vibrant shades are a stark contrast to the very earthy vibes of the PNW and a fun shake-up of my typical color repertoire.

Friends of mine and I held a Creative Yard Sale in 2021 - a collection of booths filled the front lawn with textiles, photography, refinished furniture, wooden record stands, tinctures, and handmade pizza. A lucky individual found excitement in this finished piece and decided to make it her own.
