Geometric Prairie for Hannah + Rishi

This quilt features emerald green and navy blue stripes mixed with peach and a light pink background. I paused on the progression of this quilt until I discovered a large panel print for the backing in a bright vermillion color. Carefully sewing the backing together to create a visually seamless design, the unique print creates a lovely contrast to the front. The navy binding ties the two sides together. A curved quilting design mimics the butterfly shapes on the back - two large inward arcs mirroring each other on the left and right, with echoing curves filling in the top and bottom.

A thoughtful gift for a newly wed couple, their names and wedding date were embroidered on the back of the quilt. The custom label was stitched on with green and lavender thread, colors from their wedding theme.

This quilt was among those that I tested for a pattern designer, checking the instructions for clarity and accuracy before being released to the public. Admittedly, it was a challenging design with so many small pieces needing to match up well in order for the design to not feel clunky.
