Story Hour for Andrew

This lap quilt features two vertical columns of v-shaped designs. As per the quilt pattern designer, they are meant to mimic open books. As per my personal passion for the outdoors, I like to view this quilt upside-down and watch a group of tents appear. The background is a true gray, embodying either the alternate universe when diving head first into a captivating book or the darkness that casts across open skies above a distant campground. The dark gray binding creates a visually borderless background. The back is a two-parter, one-third of which is a yellow tone-on-tone “x” print and two-thirds a gray-white pinstripe in a beautiful linen. The quilting is a simple double v that follows the books/tents in a dark gray thread.

At my second ever Last Thursday market on Alberta Street in Portland, Oregon, a sweet couple was drawn to this design and opted to make it theirs - what a sweet gift!
