Cut-it-up Challenge
This small quilt was part of a quilt guild challenge to use fabrics and/or blocks from another quilter's project (leftover or unfinished) and make a new quilt. Each quarter circle block was already cut and/or pieced. I added a simple light gray background to modernize the overall vibe and organized the blocks into large three-quarter circle blocks, each including both greens and purple florals. I had just enough fabric to complete the design accordingly. The floral print was also used for the binding, which was machine sewn and really pops against the turquoise solid backing fabric that was used to brighten the more muted toned on the front. Wide quilting lines follow the curved shapes diagonally from top-right to bottom-left. The resulting wavy texture on the back emulates flowing water.
