For this Desert Mosaic quilt, the green quilt backing fabric was chosen first, while the solid colors on the front were plucked from the diamonds in the print. Within a small canvas, I chose to play around with a unique quilting design, following the shapes on the front with a few extra details in the middle of the quilt blocks - so worth the added effort.

This quilt was made for a local friend expecting their first child. My partner chose the green backing fabric - a favorite color of the quilt recipient - and we co-designed the front. Such a fun, collaborative gift!

This pattern was the first time I had helped test out a pattern before its public release, which requires making a quilt to verify the instructions are clear and accurate while also ensuring that the formatting is consistent, spelling errors are caught, efficiencies are made, and the process is a pleasant experience overall. :)
