Flannel Patchwork for Lilah

Lilah's quilt is made entirely of flannel fabric, with no batting to reduce bulk and warmth. The front features squares and rectangles of solids and coordinating prints, while the back highlights a soft lavender. A silk binding wraps around the perimeter, a nod to my favorite childhood blanket. Lilah's first initial is embroidered onto a corner square, the only hint of her name given before gifting this quilt. Hand-tied tassels at each block’s corner bind the quilt together, tied by me and my mom.

This quilt was a gift to a childhood friend I have known since I was two, who was expecting her first child. My mom added to the gift with a beautiful, handmade crocheted hat.
