Campfire

This small quilt has a true gray background and a bundle of fun prints on the front, sewn with a log cabin style piecing technique. Speaking of log cabin piecing, the back also uses this technique at a large scale with three bright colors of orange, pink, and red. Simple quilting appears within each of the gray strips, masked with gray thread on the front and popping on the back. A teal binding surrounds the quilt which was machine sewn with coordinating thread (teal on the back and gray on the front). Though slightly different dimensions, its sister quilt was created using the same fabrics and a different contrasting binding. I carried this quilt top with me on a crazy beautiful hike in Twenty Lakes Basin. It also came in handy for sun protection at those high elevations while we stopped for some fishing/reading.
