Meadowland for Home

After winning a custom curated fabric bundle from Portland quilt pattern designer, Meghan from Then Came June, I decided that the best pattern to use was one of Meghan's! I loved making her Meadowland quilt a couple of years ago and so created a slightly smaller version to utilize all the fabrics I received. I added the black background with clusters of small geometric white shapes, which spills into the binding on the bottom right. The backing is a tone on tone navy blue - a perfect compliment to the color palette on the front. A few remaining fat quarters were pieced together to create a scrappy black and white binding, which was hand sewn on the back. With all the deep color values, I chose a warm mustard yellow thread for the quilting to blend in a bit more than a white thread would. The way that color pops on the backing fabric is beautiful. The quilting design features a curvy X, but this time was sewn in all four directions, creating differing shapes when the diagonal lines intersect.

I grew very attached to this quilt as I put it together, so decided to keep it for myself :) It's the perfect size for working at home and car rides.
