This wall hanging features a whimsical version of a meadow with a standalone tree. A yellow and white pinstripe depict the clouds; a purple blooming tree grows from a pink meadow. The background fabric is a circusy print of retro clouds. It is meticulously pieced so the print has no visual abruptions - so worth the (ton of) extra effort. The meadow is quilted with straight line horizontal quilting, while the rest of the quilt top echos the shape of the tree top. The backing is a deep purple that contrasts with the white quilting thread. The yellow binding was hand sewn and corner pockets were added on the back for easy hanging with a wooden dowel.

When testing a pattern for a quilt pattern designer, which I did for this quilt, I often choose very different colors to their "cover quilt". It's a great way to explore other variations and to showcase the versatility of the design. While not my typical color scheme, I love how fun this would look on a young child's bedroom wall!
